Description

Greek Text: Edited by the Institute for New Testament Textual Research, Münster/Germany
Running Greek-English Dictionary: Compiled by Barclay M. Newman Textual Notes: Compiled by Florian VossFollowing intensive preparatory work, in 2014 the fifth edition of the UBS Greek New Testament (“UBS 5”) has been published. The most widely used edition of the Greek New Testament worldwide is thus now available in a fundamentally revised, improved edition. In this Reader’s Edition the Greek text of UBS 5 is combined with a running Greek-English dictionary at the bottom of each page in which difficult vocabularies are translated and parsing information for verb forms is given. Hence, this edition is an indispensable help for Greek students and pastors, enabling them to read the Greek text more fluently. In addition, textual notes at selected passages are highlighting the most important differences between major Greek manuscripts. The Institute for New Testament Textual Research (INTF) is a university institute in Münster (Germany). Its general task is research on the textual history of the Greek New Testament and the reconstruction of its initial text. Apart from the UBS Greek New Testament, the INTF also edits the Novum Testamentum Graece (“Nestle-Aland”) and the Editio Critica Maior for the German Bible Society.

Dr. Barclay M. Newman was Chair and Chief Translator of the Contemporary English Version (CEV) of the Bible, first published in 1995 by the American Bible Society (ABS). He was a member of the Old Testament Committee for the Good News Bible (Todays English Version) published in 1976 by ABS, and he chaired the revision that was published by the ABS in 1992 as the Good News Translation.

Dr. Florian Voss received his PhD in New Testament from the University of Zürich (Switzerland). He has been working as a research assistant at the University of Saarbrücken (Germany) before joining the German Bible Society where he has been responsible for the New Testament scholarly editions ever this.
