Our July order from Banner of Truth took the scenic route around the UK warehouse. After five weeks of no-show (and delaying the shipments from other publishers), our shipping agent advises us to claim against the warehouse and re-order from Banner. This we did. A couple of weeks later, the new Banner order was ready to ship, but I noticed that there were two Banner shipments ready to go. The old order had been ‘found’! We now have a duplicate order.
There are some books that I ordered in high volumes because there was high demand. And now that is doubled. We are not going to run out of Some Pastors and Teachers again in a hurry! There are also new titles that I usually order in high first time around. These will also be doubled. We don’t mind having extra Banner books – they are treasures – but they fill the place! Our Puritan Paperback shelves are filled to capacity and we have boxes of books that don’t fit on the storeroom shelves.
On the plus side, we received a reduction in shipping costs because of the delay of the first shipment. This worked nicely to partly counter the recent demise of the Rand. Prices of new stock did increase, but not badly. This means that we have multiple copies of books at reasonable prices. Consider using some of these titles for your next study group reading. To see what quantities we have without having to search for titles individually on the web site, download the excel catalogue. Click on ‘Download Excel catalogue’ on right hand side of home page on goodneighbours.wpengine.com . You can then sort the Excel spread sheet by publisher and view the quantities in the Banner section.
Note that these Banner books will not be included in the sale even though we have high quantities. Banner books are already discounted by 45% off retail – very reasonable prices to make these books accessible to all.

Sale reminder: Our annual sale takes place from Sat, 24th Nov till Sat, 8th Dec. Sale books will include end-of-lines and a variety of regular stock marked down. Some bargain books have been bought in specially for the sale. I will feature these in the next newsletter. Sale books will be marked with BBX in the title , so that you can search using this mnemonic on the web site and make your choices accordingly (books to be selected and marked only a few days prior to the sale).

The following list of new books is rather long as I got rather carried away with all the new children’s books available for Christian Focus! These will all make good Christmas presents.
New from Banner:
- Fear of God by John Bunyan. A Puritan Paperback; 176pp; R55.
- Banner mini-guides – Each title in this new series will provide an outline of the Bible’s teaching on a particular subject. They will open up a key verse or portion of Scripture for study, while not neglecting other passages related to the theme under consideration. The goal is to whet your appetite and to encourage you to explore the subject in more detail: hence the suggestions for further reading which appear after the final chapter. However, the mini-guide will provide enough information to enlarge your understanding of the theme. Titles available (all paperbacks):
- Salvation, Full and Free in Christ by Ian Hamilton. 112pp; R55
- The Bible, God’s Inerrant Word by Derek Thomas. 136pp; R55
