Description
KEVIN BELMONTE
A man often overlooked in history, Wilberforce fought a battle of some forty-six years to abolish slave trade and, ultimately, slavery itself in Britain. From his troubled youth and departure from Christianity to his reunion with evangelical faith and his destiny, this guide helps you to understand and experience the ups and downs this remarkable man experienced as he laboured to uphold the dignity of life.
Kevin Belmonte is the director of The Wilberforce Project at Gordon College, an initiative that fosters scholarship relating to all aspects of William Wilberforce’s legacy. He is also the principle historical consultant for a feature film on the life of Wilberforce. He holds a B.A. in English literature from Gordon College and an M.A. in church history from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He and his wife live in York, Maine, USA
This is a beautifully crafted guide and primer for Wilberforce. Kevin Belmonte makes the great reformer come alive with these rivetting descriptions and well chosen pictures of his haunts and habitations. Equally enjoyable for novices and experts on Wilberforce’s fascinating life and character.

Fascinating, informative, and very helpful—Kevin Belmonte’s Travel with William Wilberforce introduces not only a hero but his world. Everyone concerned with human rights should know of Wilberforce, the world’s greatest social reformer, and all who are people of faith should emulate his courage and his life-long passion for justice.

Travel with William Wilberforce by Kevin Belmonte is a wonderful little book that not only serves as a travel guide to the sites associated with the life of Wilberforce, but also provides one of the best short biographies of the great reformer I have read. You might begin by thinking you are only reading a travel guide, but you will shortly find yourself caught up in the amazing life that the sites represent. I heartily recommend it.
